A noite mais esperada do ano para os amantes de cinema culminou com a 96.ª cerimónia de entrega dos Óscares, que decorreu no Dolby Theatre, em Los Angeles. A gala foi apresentada por Jimmy Kimmel, conduzindo a noite junto com o habitual humor mordaz, com referências a edições anteriores, incluindo o anúncio acidental de “La La Land” como melhor filme.
O grande vencedor da noite foi “Oppenheimer”, a história épica de Christopher Nolan, que arrecadou sete estatuetas, incluindo as de Melhor Filme e Melhor Realizador.
O filme, que narra a vida e o trabalho do cientista que liderou o projeto da bomba atómica, foi o mais nomeado, com 13 indicações, e confirmou o favoritismo em categorias técnicas e artísticas.
Entre os atores, os destaques foram Emma Stone, que venceu o seu segundo Óscar pela sua interpretação de uma rainha louca em “Pobres Criaturas”, e Cillian Murphy, que se consagrou como o protagonista de “Oppenheimer”. Robert Downey Jr. também levou para casa o seu primeiro Óscar pelo seu papel de ator secundário no mesmo filme, enquanto Da’Vine Joy Randolph surpreendeu ao ganhar o prémio de Melhor Atriz Secundária pela sua atuação em “Os Excluídos”.
